  • One-day course: bring your own bike and helmet or rent from us.

The course is aimed at adults of all ages and young people accompanied by an adult. We divide participants into smaller groups according to previous experience.

We would like you to have attended our Basic course mountain bike so that you have some prior knowledge, such as performing a front wheel lift, knowing the positions on the bike and having good braking technique.

Below are examples of what we work with on the course. It may vary slightly depending on the level and wishes of the course participants.

  • Move front and rear wheels over rocks/roots/hills.
  • Roll down from drops and edges up to 50 cm.
  • We go through how to get up a cliff/edge
  • Finding the balance on the bike standing still (trackstand)
  • We enjoy cornering with cones in the terrain
  • Active cycling up, down and through technical terrain with good positioning on the bike.
  • Line selection and where we look on the trail.
  • Standing cycling through rough terrain to maintain speed and flow!
  • Great trail cycling on challenging blue trails

Instruktructors on the course are trained mountain bike instructors and have attended the Mountainbikeskolan’s internal training programme.

There is a maximum of 7 participants per instructor, the number of instructors on the course will be adjusted depending on the number of participants enrolled on the course.

Schedule: Your course runs between 10:00 – 15:00. If you arrive a little earlier, about 20 minutes, there is breakfast, coffee and sandwich, and you have time to arrange your possible rental bike.

The course starts at 10:00 with a gathering and review of the day’s schedule and we then cycle off for technique training. Back at lunch 12:15 when we eat vegetarian and locally produced food from Kafé Källtorp. At 13:00 we cycle out into the woods and apply our new skills in different places in the deep forests of Hellas! We are back at Mountainbikeskolan at 15:00 to sum up the day over a coffee.

  • We recommend you to use knee pads, available in our shop on site or to rent when booking.
  • Rent a mountain bike during the course in top condition. You can choose between a mountain bike with front suspension only or one with front and rear suspension, a little more comfortable and safer.
  • Bring a helmet (included if you rent a bike from us). T-shirt, jumper or windbreaker, short or long trousers. Gym, street or walking shoes. Water bottle for the bike, or a backpack with a water bottle. Gloves can be useful.
  • We have everything you need to fix punctures and other problems on your bike during the course.
  • Other: Use the type of pedals you are used to. We also recommend that you bring sports drinks and 2-4 bars/energy gels to get you through the day energy-wise.
  • Dropper post, it is very good if you have a dropper post on your bike, if you have an older bike it may be better to rent. It is possible to cycle well with all reasonably modern bikes, but without a dropper post it is difficult to find the right technique.
  • Venue: Meeting point is Mountainbikeskolan / Kafé Källtorp, Ältavägen 105 in Nacka. We have a limitied number of parking spaces that are free for those who attend the course. Bus 401 and 821 stop just outside the enclosure, bus stop Källtorp.
  • Make new cycling friends: During the course you will get to know other students. We arrange for everyone who wants to sign up to a ‘buddy list’. There are usually groups on Facebook or WhatsApp, so you can stay in touch with your group and meet up for mountain biking even after the course.
  • 10% off in the shop for course participants: Mountainbikeskolan has a shop with bicycle equipment such as helmets, arm and knee protectors, gloves, tubes, tires, pumps, etc. As a course participant you have a 10% discount on everything in the shop during the bike tour day. Mountainbikeskolan is a Trek dealer and has a wide range of rental bikes of all Trek mountain bike models.
  • About us: Mountainbikeskolan started in 2014 and has been running mountain bike courses ever since. Mountainbikeskolan has a garden café and a garden with its own greenery, berries, fruit, vegetables and herbs. There is also a bike park. Mountainbikeskolan organizes cycling events and dinners for companies and groups who enjoy good food and great cycling.
