OUR BIKES FOR RENT

Mountain bikes and gravel bikes in different sizes, including mountain bikes for children. We pride ourselves on always offering bikes that are in perfect working condition upon delivery. Helmet is included in the rent. You can rent or buy knee and elbow pads on site.

When you rent a bike from us at Mountainbikeskolan, it is important that you follow the “Allemansrätten” regulations regarding off-road cycling. In Erstavik, where we are, those who walk and run have priority. In the forest around Stockholm, the app Trail Forks is used when we talk about the names of the trails. Download it on your Smart Phone and it will be easier to find the trails suitable for you in Stockholms trail mecca!

Hardtail Mountain bike

  • Trek Roscoe 7 and Marlin 7. Full-suspension mountain bike with a dropper post.
  • Rent by the hour, minimum 2 hours at 326 SEK. Bikes can be booked up to 1 week.
  • Trail cycling and gravel roads
  • Suitable for anyone who wants to try mountain biking. An all-round mountain bike that handles all trails at a leisurely pace. Ideal for those who ride at a relaxed pace or for those with good technique who can handle a slightly tougher bike, as it only has front suspension. Thanks to its dropper post, it is comfortable to ride even on descents.

Full suspension Mountain bike

  • Trek Fuel EX 8 and Top Fuel 8. Full-suspension bikes from Trek.
  • Rent by the hour, minimum 2 hours at 495 SEK. Bikes can be booked up to 1 week.
  • Trail riding, whether flowing or technical.
  • Full-suspension bikes suitable for all types of trail riding, from technical trail riding and downhill riding to smooth and fast riding on easier trails. The Top Fuel bike also performs well in long-distance races such as Cykelvasan. If you have a preference for a particular bike, please state this in the ‘Other’ field when making your booking.

Gravel bike

  • Trek Checkpoint ALR 5, Gravel Bike
  • Rent by the hour, minimum 2 hours at 336 SEK. The bike can be booked online for a few days, pls contact us for longer periods.
  • Gravel and road cycling
  • The perfect bike for long days of cycling adventures in Erstavik and southern Stockholm, or on your cycling holiday around Sweden. A luggage rack is available to book for your bike. The tyres fitted work very well on tarmac too. Can also be used in cycle races such as the Vätternrundan.

KiDS & YOUTH Mountain bike

  • Trek Marlin 7 and 8, front-suspension bikes with dropper posts.
  • Rent by the hour, minimum 2 hours at 163 SEK. Bikes can be booked up to 1 week.
  • Trail riding, whether smooth or technical.
  • Suitable for children and teenagers. An all-round mountain bike that can handle any trail. Available in various sizes for children/teenagers between 140cm and 160cm.

Kids Mountain bike

  • Trek Wahoo Trail 20”/24”, suspension bike for children.
  • Rent by the hour, minimum 2 hours at 163 SEK per hour.
  • Trail cycling and gravel paths
  • A very light and well-designed mountain bike for children. The bike is well suited to all trails in the area, both flowing and slightly more technical. The bike has a carbon fibre front fork and thick tyres. This makes it feel playful and smooth despite not having front suspension. Available in 20″ and 24″ wheel sizes. Suitable for children from approx. 115cm to 140cm.

Sweden’s best mountain bike trail area

For approx. ten years ago, the founder of Mountain Bike, Garry Fisher, visited to test Stockholm’s, already recognized trail area Hellas. It is said that Garry was completely lyrical and named Hellas one of the world’s four best trail areas. True or not, we just know that everyone who comes here loves this area. But give it some time, there are over 250 trails. Like everything else that is really good, it takes some time to learn the area. If you’re a beginner, start with green trails in the Trail Forks app. Hellas trails can be both flowy and fantastically technical. Start slowly, then head towards blue and red trails.

Questions & Answers about our bikes

Here we have collected some of the most common questions we get at Mountainbikeskolan regarding bike rentals. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact us and we will help you find the right bike!

The bike hire always includes a helmet and the pedals you want. We have SPD or flat, and you can also choose to bring your own pedals and get help to change to them. Elbow pads and knee pads can be rented or bought in our shop on site.
Bike locks are not included, bring your own, or rent a combination lock from us.

Our bikes are always serviced when you pick them up. In the unfortunate event of an accident, you may want to take a repair kit with you. You can rent a repair kit from us, which includes a tube, tyre and multitool.
We also offer insurance for the bike, a deductible reduction. Maximum amount in case of damage reduced to SEK 250. You take out insurance when you book online or on site when you pick up the bike.

You can rent bikes from us by the hour, for up to a week (mountain bikes) or up to three weeks (gravel bikes) via our online booking system. If you’d like to rent for a longer period, please contact us and we’ll book it for you manually.

A mountain bike is included in the “try-out” courses. For the basic courses you need to book the course, then book a rental bike (or bring your own bike).

We have front suspension mountain bikes (Trek Roscoe) and gravel bikes (Trek Checkpoint). We also have full suspension mountain bikes, (Trek Top Fuel and Trek Fuel Ex), please indicate your preference when booking. We also have bikes for children in all sizes. All bikes are freshly serviced and in perfect working condition, most of them this year’s model or last year’s.

Front suspension MTB – Trail bike: Trek Roscoe. Mountain bike for both flowy trails and technical cycling.
Full suspension MTB – Cross Country bike XC: Trek Top Fuel. Light and fast full-suspension bike for gravel roads and trails. Fast and responsive bike for those who’ve done a lot of MTB riding and know their way around. (Currently not on site)
Full suspension MTB – Trail bike/ Enduro: Trek Fuel Ex. Fully cushioned mountainbike for trail and technical riding, good for trail riding.
Gravel bike: Trek Checkpoint. Bike for gravel road cycling, light trail and road cycling.
Kids’ bikes: We have all sizes from 20″ wheels upwards. All our children’s bikes are mountain bikes.

Bus 401 runs from Slussen several times an hour. Bus stop: Källtorp, about 15 minutes from Slussen.

Drive towards Älta, at Sickla follow road 260. You pass Hellasgården on your left, go a few hundred meters more, pass the allotments. Turn left into the Mountain Bike School and Kafé Källtorp.
