FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Here are some of the most common questions we receive here at Mountainbikeskolan. Should you have any other questions, please contact us and we will answer them.

Mountainbikeskolan’s courses are designed for Swedish conditions. The courses are based on the international coach and mountain bike instructor training program of the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association (PMBIA). We have our own training program, instructor training, which all our instructors attend. Our own training is designed specifically for our courses and programs. We also have a six-day course designed for young people who want to work as guides or mountain bike instructors. This training can be booked for a minimum of 8 people.

Absolutely, we are specialists in mountain biking and we know the Trek brand very well as we are dealers of this bike brand. If you are interested in buying a bike from us, you can borrow our demo bikes for test rides.

Yes, you can rent a bike if you don’t have your own on all our courses. Our rental bikes are always freshly serviced and of the current model. You can also rent a bike without taking a course.

We have the Trek Roscoe 7-2023, a very good trail bike with front suspension. We also have full suspension bikes, such as the Top Fuel 8-2023 and Fuel Ex 8-2023. We also have the Trek Checkpoint 5, a gravel bike. We have mountain bikes for children of all sizes.

Yes, there is a parking lot that can accommodate about 20 cars. Parking can be used free of charge for course participants (except for the Wednesday cycling when there are too many participants). On Wednesdays, you can park in Hellasgården’s parking lot. You can also park with us if you are booked for an event.

The bike park is open Tuesday – Sunday at 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The bike park may be used free of charge, but all contributions are welcome. You may not bring your own food and drinks into the bike park or the café. You support the maintenence and construction of the park by buying your food and drinks at Kafé Källtorp or by having your mountain bike serviced in our work shop or attending a jumping course at Mountainbikeskolan.

Yes you can swim here, we lease the land down by the water. You support us by having lunch or coffee at Källtorp Café.

According to the Right of public access, you are free to cycle on existing trails in the forrest. When you go mountain biking in the Erstavik area, you must give way to others that roam the trails in the forrest, i.e. walkers, runners and horse riders. Remember to use a good technique, avoid making skid marks on trails and gravel paths.

We open on the first weekend of April (2024 we open early, already on 29 March) and we close for the season on the last weekend in November.
