Långbacka / Bådagård

10 Oct 2026

Intensely intimate and grandly spectacular in a genre all their own, when Maja Långbacka & Matilda Bådagård perform at Källtorp Jazz & Sound on October 10, 2026

Långbacka / Bådagård –
Källtorp JAZZ & SOUND

Långbacka/Bådagård has carved out its own genre somewhere in the melting pot of pop, jazz, world music, and traditional folk music. Since their debut in 2018, they have released a total of six albums, in both Swedish and English, and performed at a variety of venues, including churches, festivals, clubs, and prestigious events.

Since the fall of 2025, the duo has taken a break from touring to focus on composing. Among other things, they’ve written the music for the play Lyckan at the Västerbotten Theater and worked on music for a feature film. It’s been a creative and intense period in the studio, but now they’re itching to perform in front of a live audience again.

A concert featuring the vibrant and unique Maja Långbacka and Matilda Bådagård is like stepping into a very special musical universe where genre boundaries are challenged and tradition meets innovation. After a year spent in their compositional bubble, they will finally take the stage again in the fall of 2026.

Maja Långbacka studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and has since established herself as one of the most interesting and stylistically diverse voices in the Swedish music scene. With her roots in folk music, she moves seamlessly between traditional sounds, pop, and innovative arrangements.

Maja is a versatile artist who frequently composes music for film, theater, and the performing arts. Her musical intuition has taken her on extensive tours and led to collaborations with leading performing arts companies and acts. On stage, her powerful stage presence, voice, and violin playing come together with a deeply personal musical expression.

Matilda Bådagård is a singer and musician who studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. She moves freely between jazz, classical music, and pop, and plays many instruments. She also works as a composer, arranger, and music producer.

In addition to her work with the Långbacka/Bådagård duo, Matilda composes music for film and the performing arts, and this fall she is set to release the soundtracks for several feature films in theaters.
