FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Here are some of the most common questions we receive here at the Mountain Bike School. Should you have any other questions, please contact us and we will answer them.

Mountainbikeskolan’s courses are designed for Swedish conditions. The courses are based on the international coach and mountain bike instructor training program of the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association (PMBIA). We have our own training program, instructor training, which all our instructors attend. Our own training is designed specifically for our courses and programs. We also have a six-day course designed for young people who want to work as guides or mountain bike instructors. This training can be booked for a minimum of 8 people.

Absolutely, we are specialists in mountain biking and we know the Trek brand very well as we are dealers of this bike brand. If you are interested in buying a bike from us, you can borrow our demo bikes for test rides.

Yes, you can rent a bike if you don’t have your own on all our courses. Our rental bikes are always freshly serviced and of the current model. You can also rent a bike without taking a course.

We have the Trek Roscoe 7-2023, a very good trail bike with front suspension. We also have full suspension bikes, such as the Top Fuel 8-2023 and Fuel Ex 8-2023. We also have the Trek Checkpoint 5, a gravel bike. We have mountain bikes for children of all sizes.

Yes, there is a parking lot that can accommodate about 20 cars. Parking can be used free of charge for course participants (except for the Wednesday cycling when there are too many participants). On Wednesday cycling, you can park in Hellasgården’s parking lot. You can also park with us if you are booked for an event.

The bike park is open Tuesday-Sunday 9:00-17:00 during the April-November season. The bike park can be used free of charge, but all voluntary contributions are welcome. You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks in the bike park or in the courtyard. You support the maintenance and construction of the park by shopping at Kafé Källtorp or by handing in your mountain bike for service or taking a jumping course or similar.

Yes you can swim with us, we lease the land down by the water. You support us by having lunch or coffee at Kafé Källtorp.

You are allowed to cycle on existing paths in the forest under the right of public access. When cycling in Erstavik, you must give way to anyone else travelling in the forest, e.g. those who are hiking, running or horse riding. Remember to cycle with good technique, avoid skidding or making skid marks on paths and gravel roads.

We open on the first weekend of April and close for the season on the last weekend of November.
