Rigmor Gustafsson & Erik Söderlind

In addition to no less than three of Rigmor Gustafsson‘s albums selling gold, she has also received several awards and honours. Among other things, a Grammy for best Swedish jazz disc and the Royal Academy of Music’s Jazz Prize.

Over the years Rigmor has toured the world, mostly with her own trio, but she has also performed in other constellations (Radiostråkkvartetten Wien, Danmarks Radio Big Band, The Royal Filharmonic Orchestra, Sveriges Radio Jazz Orchestra) and has appeared in a number of TV programmes. She has performed twice at the celebration of Crown Princess Victoria’s birthday and the Royal Wedding Concert in 2010, both performances were broadcast live on SVT. Rigmor also performed at the Nobel Prize ceremony in 2003, which was broadcast on TV in several countries.

Erik Söderlind‘s signature is his fingerstyle technique, which is based on his early classical training. Musically, he can be described as an innovator with roots in swing, bebop and blues. His broad musical sensibilities and background have also taken him far beyond the domains of jazz. He has written music for, and toured with, some of Sweden’s most popular singers such as Louise Hoffsten and Lisa Nilsson. He has also played with many of Sweden’s jazz elite such as Svante Thuresson, Kjell Öhman, and Max Schultz.
